Watch the video after the jump
I sang this a few times after recording the video, until the kids were singing along with the refrain, which is what I was aiming for. Foot tapping would have been nice, but no such luck today. To their credit, the rhythm isn't as toe-tap-inducing as it could have been.
In any case, I really could have posted this under Experiments in Dadification, since this is another experiment in itself, but I didn't want to flog that horse too much today. We really should show a bit more respect for the dead.
Expect to see more kid songs in the not-too-distant future, as I try to see if using songs actually helps drive the lesson home or not (I was going to link to a video of Mrs. Featherbottom singing "Always Read the Label," from Arrested Development right here, but alas, it would seem said video does not exist on the internet).

Full disclosure: I actually worked on the lyrics and melody for about 90 seconds, so this wasn't freestyle. Also, I took two takes. The falsetto part was worse on the first one, believe it or not. I guess I know what vocal technique Dad is going to be practicing today (read tomorrow's post about singing).
