It gets cold in the NorthWest. Not nearly as cold as some other places, mind you, but cold nonetheless. This, in and of itself, isn't too big of a problem.
We have wood floors. Wooden floors get cold. Also not a huge problem.
My kids refuse to wear any nice, foot-warming articles of clothing that we put them in for longer than a few minutes at a time. The kiddos are also not good about staying under their covers when they sleep. These issues, when combined with the aforementioned temperature and flooring situation, start to create something of a problem for us.
The solution?
Pajamas.
More particularly, the good pajamas. Fuzzy Footy Zippy Jammies, as I like to call them.
A lot of pajamas only go down to the ankles.
Most pajamas, inexplicably, eschew the use of zippers in favor of buttons. This is a horrible idea for several reasons; these jammies are hard to put on a squirming baby or toddler, it's hard to line everything up correctly when putting it on, there's too much space between buttons for warmth to escape, etc, etc. I am not a fan. Am I more vitriolic in my distaste for button up pajamas than I should be? I can totally see how I might be. Regardless, I am sticking to my assertion that Fuzzy, Footy, Zippy Jammies are the greatest thing.
What makes these particular pajamas so great? Pretty much the opposite of everything that makes other pajamas wrong. They're made of thick, warm, fuzzy fabric. They're easy to put on. They cover your kids' feet like socks that somehow, magically, stay on. Also, they have a grippy surface on the bottom of the feet, so they aren't slippery like socks. They're the perfect thing to wear until things warm up a bit after lunch. One final thing: they're adorable. Yup. Even if the other reasons weren't convincing enough, that one should do the trick.
My question is this: Since Fuzzy Footy Zippy Jammies are so clearly superior all of the lesser forms of pajama out there, why are they so hard to find. They aren't nearly as common as the other kinds. At least, not where we are. Until we had kids, I thought that these were far and away the most common form of pajama. Then I was tasked with trying to find some...
If we aren't going anywhere I usually leave Koston in his allday. Maybe that's lazy parenting. But he stays warm and that's what I care about. I can only ever find them at. Costco though. Which I love costco so that's okay.
