This morning, Ellie had a play date with some of the other little girls her age. That left me at home with just the boys. Whenever the opportunity arises, I like to do total guy stuff. If they were older, I'm sure we would have rented all of the super hero movies that we've missed out on over the last year or two. Really, anything with explosions would have been great. The Mrs. isn't always as excited to watch those movies as I am, so I've got a lot of catching up to do. But alas, the boys are still just 1 and 2 1/2, so all of that would be too intense. So no superhero movies for Dad.
So what did we end up doing, you ask?
Well, first off, Cam wasn't feeling very well, so I wanted to be sure that we were taking it easy. Unfortunately, the kids are not good at taking it easy. They always want to run, jump, scream, etc. The only thing that ever seems to work is giving them food (of the non-portable variety) and turning on something that they will want to watch. We started off the day by eating breakfast while watching concert videos (In Flames -- the kids have always liked that concert video), and then we just hung out for a while. Cam even wanted to cuddle. That doesn't happen often at all.
Then we watched some Dinosaur Train. I think that one is more or less Cam's equivalent to me and superhero movies. Ellie is alright with watching the Dinosaur Train, but she isn't anywhere near as into it as Cam. She was gone, so I think he saw that as a good opportunity to take advantage. If we weren't going to watch my guy movies, we might as well watch theirs. The boys were stoked. And subdued. Not a bad Boys' Day in.
Bren you kids are never to young to watch Star Wars!
