Boots is the Worst

As I mentioned the other day, I am not a fan of Boots the Monkey. In all seriousness, I think he must be one of the worst ideas for a character, pretty much ever. The voice is bad enough, but that's not the real problem here.

Why is Boots such a lame character?

Sadly, both were wrong.

Boots is a stupid character because he wears boots. Plain and simple.

As a fashion statement, boots are a matter of personal taste, and that's fine.

But here's the thing:
MONKEYS USE THEIR FEET LIKE A SECOND PAIR OF HANDS! I'm sorry for yelling, I just think it's super dumb.

Now, no one ever accused Boots of being super smart or anything like that, but seriously, by making this particular fashion statement, Boots is, in effect, HANDICAPPING HIMSELF. And not in the golf sense, which is totally a reasonable thing to do.

Truth be told, this fashion choice is probably necessary as a plot device -- in my head, it goes like this:
The other monkeys have shunned Boots from their group, deeming him unfit to mate, and that is why he spends all of his time with a human little girl.
