Seriously, this hospital is nicer than most nice hotels. It's kind of ridiculous. In a good way. I used to sell medical equipment and supplies, and looking around the rooms, I can't help but picture the price tags on everything in the room. It suffices to say that had this place been an account of mine, I would be a very happy (and wealthy) man.

You should see the pool here. |
Anyway, we had to bring Elles in yesterday, since she was still sick from Monday. Although she finally stopped with the vomiting and fever and such, her body just wasn't taking in fluid, so she had become pretty severely dehydrated. She wasn't able to walk, hold a cup, or do practically anything on her own strength, so her doctor recommended that we bring her in to the ER again. No biggie. We had assumed that we would bring her into the ER, she would be hooked up to an IV (the medical term, not the roman numeral), and we would be on the way home in two hours. That was about 26 hours ago. Still here.
The good news is, although it took her body WAY longer than we had expected to become hydrated, she is finally acting like herself. Sometime around 9:00 last night, she just started talking nonstop like the usual chatterbox that she is. As often as I find myself rolling my eyes just a bit and responding with nods and such to the verbal onslaught, I couldn't help but smile uncontrollably at the return to her regular personality. She is currently trying to balance a teddy bear on her head while eating Rice Crispies. Awesome. Now, if they can just let us go home...
Poor Ellie and mommy and daddy. I am sorry you had to spend time in the hospital, but so glad she is feeling better!!!
